I'm FINE, just pissed

Through incredibly bad timing and (long story short) managing to hit the gas when I meant to hit the brake, I totaled* my car Monday morning on the way to work. I ended up with a 1/2 inch scratch, slightly sore neck and back, and appreciation for the safety of the modern car.

So now I have to buy a new (used) car. As always, I've started my search on the Consumer Reports best used cars list; I've narrowed it down to 4 choices:

• Toyota Echo
• Pontiac Vibe
• Honda Civic
• Mazda 3

Preferably 2004 or later, and under 125K miles. Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences?
